Let’s Sit Together (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Let’s Sit Together mobile application (the “App”). Your privacy, especially concerning mental health and emotional well-being, is our highest priority. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of your information.

Purpose of the App

Let’s Sit Together provides moderated, anonymous peer support and wellness resources for individuals ages 13 and older.

-This App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately.

2. Information We Collect

To provide a supportive experience, we collect the following categories of data:

Account Information: Email address (for authentication and password recovery) and an optional nickname.
User-Generated Content (Sensitive Data): This includes your mood entries, journal entries, and chat messages. Because this data reflects your mental well-being, it is treated with the highest level of confidentiality.
Technical Data: Device type, operating system version, and anonymized app usage statistics (e.g., frequency of feature use).

Protection of Mental Health Data

We recognize the sensitive nature of mental health information. We protect this data through:

End-to-End Considerations: Data is encrypted during transit and while stored.
Non-Commercialization: Your mental health data (moods, journals, chats) is never sold, rented, or used for advertising.
Purpose-Limited Access: Our moderators only access chat data to ensure community safety and prevent bullying or self-harm. They do not have access to your private journal entries.

3. CloudKit Data Storage & Sync

The App uses Apple CloudKit to store and sync your data (moods and journals) across your devices.

Storage: Your data is stored in your private iCloud database, managed by Apple.
Access: We do not have access to your personal Apple ID or other files stored in your iCloud.
Security: Data in CloudKit is protected by Apple’s industry-standard security protocols. For more, please review Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Chat is only stored by the user on their local platform, and we delete the chat once the chat is completed.

4. How We Use Information

We use your data strictly to:

Facilitate peer support and emotional tracking.
Maintain a safe environment through active chat moderation.
Improve App stability and fix bugs.
Comply with legal obligations or respond to emergency safety situations.

Your Rights & Data Control

You have full control over your information. Under this policy, you may:

Access & Export: View the data you have entered into the App.
Correction: Update or correct your account information at any time.
Data Deletion: Delete specific journal or mood entries within the App.
Account Removal: You may delete your account entirely through the App settings. This action will trigger the permanent removal of your personal data from our active databases, subject to any legal retention requirements.

5. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not share your personal information with third parties, except:

Safety & Legal: If we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent reported self-harm, harm to others, or to comply with a valid legal request (e.g., a subpoena).
Service Providers: We may use third-party tools (like CloudKit) to provide the App’s infrastructure, bound by strict privacy terms.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the App
